Fresh out the shower, had to wash the Manhattan street "toxins" aka nightlife off of me! (LOL) ..Anywho, last night, RATHER, this morning I had a TOTAL blast! Me and my fav party pals Franceleslia & Caasi decided we'd hit up the hottest city spots celebrating Cinco De Mayo and have a good 'ol time on the dancefloor. First we started out at Greenhouse, which by the way was BOMB! The DJ had our adrenaline pumping for sure! Then we went to "The Box". It was actually my 1st time going and may I add it was one HECK of an experience! Hands down the most bizarre club I've ever been to, yet really really cool! Around 3am we headed over to the meat packing district to end our night at RDV, where stylist Damon Peruzzi was hosting the party there. Unfortunately for us, we missed all the good stuff, but was able to catch up w/Coco and Breezy, who happens to be really good pals of mine. OVERALL, it was a frekin awsome night and I'm pretty certain there's many more to come!
Yesterday, I had a meeting over at the most KILLER vintage boutique here in New York City, THE GARMENT ROOM. While pow-wowing with the owner, Tiffany Nicole, I couldn't help but indulge in the artwork and amazingggg "one of a kind" garments they have. Although it was my first time visiting, I was totally elated and it sure won't be my last! The Garment Room has been labeled as "An underground graffiti-adorned den of vintage gems" by yours truly, VOGUE Magazine. You do the math! Be prepared for more posts and updates on Events, Sample Sales, Collaborations (wink), and much more with THE GARMENT ROOM NYC. ;]
In case you aren't familiar with the artist above, let me fill you in a bit! "LA ROUX" (pronounced la-ru) is a duo made up of Eleanor Jackson (singer) and Ben Langmaid (synthesizer player, co-writer and co-producer). Their songs are a combination of Electropop, Synthpop, Europop and Dance. To me, they're frekin AMAZING. I'd like to think after you hear a few of their songs, you won't beg to differ! They aren't like "Lady Gaga-HUGE" in the U.S. quite yet but, their self-titled debut album escalated to #2 on the UK charts in 2009 and went Platinum! A few of my favs are : Bulletproof, I'm Not Your Toy, Cover My Eyes, Armour Love.. just to name a few. Anyhow, I hope all you guys check out some of their music and enjoy! :]
